Tic Tac Toe Challenge on Travel

tttc042

We drove from Las Vegas where I attended On Stage to Tucson today.  Whew – that is a long drive!  But we arrived safely and I was thrilled to have the space to get out the limited amount of supplies I brought with me to craft while my husband participates in a competition in his hobby.  This is the 2018 Hobby Trip!

The big question was can I use what I packed and what I received at On Stage to create a card that meets the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I considered the animal option since we were gifted a super cute set with a giraffe and a kangaroo among other animals.  But, I wasn’t sure I could come up with a great design.  I played it a little safer and used the bottom row: Layers, square, and floral.

The sentiment in this card is from the upcoming Stampin Up stamp set, Rooted in Nature.  This suite of products is a must-have.  I can’t wait for June 1 when you can order it too.

Here is the card:

Eclectic tttc042The base cardstock is Powder Pink.  On top,  I added  Flowering Flourish die cuts in Flirty Flamingo.  Over that, I placed a Naturally Eclectic Card Overlay. The white leaves work so well to frame the base layers. I love the acrylic layer, but it’s really difficult to photograph well, so I apologize for the flash and light glare.

Next, I stamped that brand new sentiment in Garden Green on Whisper White cardstock and die cut it with the Layering Squares.  I added a scalloped square also in Garden Green underneath.

The leaves came from the September 2017 Paper Pumpkin – Layering Leaves.  I also added another Flowering Flourish die cut with a rhinestone.  The butterfly was punched (before I left town) from a leftover piece of glossy paper that had been smooshed through overspray Brusho crystals. I used the matte side of the paper so it more closely matched the flower and added a couple more rhinestones.

I hope you like the card I was able to create from pre-cut pieces and scraps from my craft room.  What do you have lying around you could use to make something beautiful?  Tic Tac Toe Challenge
