Saleabration with Penguin Playmates

September is the last month of Salebration. For my next few posts, I’ll showcase the fantastic and fun free products that can be selected with a qualifying order. If you see something you want in the catalog, don’t wait to order. Saleabration products go fast and may be in short supply by the end of the month. I’m starting this showcase with the Penguin Playmates designer series paper. It coordinates with the Penguin Place bundle in the mini catalog, but it’s also delightful on its own.

Playful Polar Bear Card

Penguin Players Saleabration patterned papers on a 5x5 card with a Happy Holidays sentiment.

All of the projects I’ll share with you in this post are created without the Penguin Place bundle, so the focus is on the paper. This card is 5″x5″ using a base of Thick White cardstock. Then I added a layer of 4-1/2″ square and a layer of 4″ square paper. The graphic sides of this double-sided DSP are really versatile. While I love traditional Christmas colors, there is something fun and fresh about using non-traditional colors.

Next, I added a strip of 4″x1-1/2″ of the same paper but using the “character” side, which gave me that cute little penguin. To get the polar bear for my focal point of the card, I fussy cut out the image from another piece of the Saleabration DSP paper. I popped him up on Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I used Night of Navy ink and a stamp from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set in the mini catalog. Lastly, I added a bit of sparkle with the Opal Rounds in the annual catalog.

Let It Snow Card

Penguin Playmates Saleabration Christmas card with Let it Snow sentiment.

The next card I have for you is a traditional 5-1/2 x 4-1/4″ base of Night of Navy. Then I added a layer of Soft Seafoam card stock. I added three strips of the Penguin Playmates paper. You’ll notice I used this 4″x1-1/2″ sized strips for several of the projects. I had them leftover from invitations I made, and I couldn’t let them go to waste.

To finish this simply cute card, I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy. The stamp is from the Encircled in Warmth set in the mini catalog. I die cut it using the Encircled in Beauty dies from the Annual Catalog. A length of white Glittered Organdy Ribbon added the final touch of sparkle.

Happy Wishes Card

This card is very similar to the card above. The base is Just Jade. On top of this, I added a layer of the Playful Penguins paper using one of the graphic dotted patterns.

Again, 4″x1-1/2″ strips. But this time, I layered them and gave them some fun angles to add interest and movement to the card.

The sentiment is from the Words of Cheer stamp set in the mini catalog, and I used Just Jade ink to stamp it on a scrap strip of white cardstock. Lastly, a few silver epoxy embellishments provided that touch of sparkle that I love.

A Quick Gift Tag

Gift tag made using the Saleabration DSP from Stampin' Up! Penguin Playmates

This has been a long post, but it shows just how many different cards and projects you can create with one 12″x12″ pack of double-sided DSP. I’ll leave you with this simple gift tag. The DSP is glued to a piece of scrap cardstock, and I cut the top corners at an angle before punching a hole. I used some silver cording and a piece of the glittered organza ribbon. I plan on tying it around a bottle of wine for an easy holiday gift, but it could work just as well tied to the handles of a gift bag.
