World of Good Suite from the New Catalog

I hope by now you’ve seen the new Stampin’ Up! catalog that is going live June 3. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is the opportunity to order some products early. I got my hands on the World of Good Suite and I couldn’t put it down. This suite has everything you could want for card making and scrapbooking. Three of the new In-Colors are featured in this suite: Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Misty Moonlight. Besides the Beautiful World stamp set and matching dies, it comes with the World of Good Specialty DSP, the Old World Paper 3-D embossing folder, a pack of the new Brass foil sheets, Faux Suede trim and a pack of Antiqued Corners and Slides. In addition to that, you get the World of Good Memories and More Card Pack. Let me show you how easy that card pack makes crafting.

World of Good Memories and More Cards

For the first card, I started with a base of Mossy Meadow. I added a 4″x5-1/4″ piece of DSP from the World of Good Specialty DSP. I love the maps in this suite. Next I added one of the Memories and more cards and “anchored” it with the Antiqued Corners. These are easy to apply with a bit of Tombow Liquid glue. For the sentiment I used a sticker from the Memories and More kit.

My second card is stepped up a little bit, but still a breeze to put together. This time I used Crumb Cake for the base. On top of that I added a layer of Early Espresso that I embossed with the Old Word Paper 3-D folder. It felt a bit flat to me—I love sparkle. So, I rubbed on some Champagne Mist shimmer paint. This time I used one of the embossing dies from the World Map die set. It looks like coordinates. I ran that in two areas of the card from the Memories and More just to add more texture. I layered that on to the card base with a piece of the Faux Sued trim and one of the slides from Antiqued pack. I love how it looks like the belt around a suitcase.

Next, I stamped the globe image in Crumb Cake on a piece of Crumb Cake. I used a second generation image (stamped off once) so that my sentiment in Early Espresso would still be legible. I die cut that with the circle from the die set. Lastly, I cut the small base from Brass foil. The globe sentiment and base are on Dimensionals.

The last Memories and More based card I did features the Brass foil embossed with the Old World Paper 3-D folder. Doesn’t it look cool? The black card is from the pack. I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful World stamp set in Memento Black Tuxedo and die cut it using the Stitched Rectangles. The Misty Moonlight accessories are stamps from the set and die cut. For a final touch, I added two Misty Moonlight In-Color enamel dots.

Now that I’d had some fun and tried out all the products in the suite, I decided to see what the Stampin’ Up! designers had done with the products. I cased two of their cards.

CASE-ing the Catalog

This card is almost a direct copy from the catalog. I started with a base of Misty Moonlight. I added a trimmed down card from the Memories and More. Then I stamped the globe from Beautiful World in Mossy Meadow and the sentiment in Early Espresso and die cut them out with the circle die from World Map dies. I did a bit of sponging around the edges to give my card a bit more vintage look using Sahara Sand. This ink has a hint of green undertone so it worked perfectly with the Mossy Meadow globe.

Next, I used that same coordinate embossing die on a piece of Pear Pizzaz. I tore the edge to add texture. To get that frayed look, tear toward you. I sponged those edges with Sahara Sand, too. I also die cut the larger globe stand from Brass foil. I love how the globe fits inside this die cut shape. I added the globe and stand to the card. Then layered the Pear Pizzaz piece with a strip of Faux Suede and a piece of the DSP with torn and sponged ends. I added the sentiment circle with Dimensionals. I don’t have the Cinnamon Cider ink yet, so I used one of the Memories and More stickers. For the final touch, three In-Color enamel dots.

The other card I CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) was narrower in the catalog, and I took a few more liberties. I started with a base of Mossy Meadow and stamped the wind rose stamp in the same color all over the front for visual texture. The next layer is Crumb Cake, embossed with the Old World Paper folder and torn for texture and then sponged with Crumb Cake ink. On top of that, I added a piece of DSP.

For the sentiment, I was lucky enough to have the Misty Moonlight ink spot from the May Paper Pumpkin at my disposal. I stamped a sticker from the Memories and More pack. I also used one of the Bumblebee feathers from the pack. I die cut the swirls and the inkwell from Brass foil. My only regret on this card was that I should have cut the swirls from Early Espresso card stock so they would have stood out more. But, overall I’m happy with my modifications.

Final Scrappy Tag

The catalog has a really cute tag that I could have CASEd but I decided to use up some of the scraps I had generated making the cards featured above. Tags make great book marks, can be added to art journal pages, or to the front of cards. I like to make them and then use them when the inspiration hits.

I started with a 2″ x 5-1/2 strip of Cinnamon Cider card stock that I punched with the Scalloped Tag punch. I layered on strips of embossed paper, DSP scraps, and Memories and More trim pieces. There is even a left over piece of Brass foil layered in there. The sentiment is a cut up Memories and More card. I added stickers from the pack, after sponging them in Misty Moonlight. I also sponged around the entire edge of the tag. Lastly, I used the Faux Suede trim and an Antiqued slide.

I’m sure you can tell how much fun I had with this suite. I’d love to know what caught your eye in the catalog. I’ll post a new code on the first of the month that you can use to shop with me. Happy crafting!
