I’m catching up on some crafting while I practice social distancing. I purchased a gorgeous suite, the Mosaic Mood collection in the annual catalog. It has a stamp set, a punch, an embossing folder, DSP, flower gems and a spool of ribbon. The mosaic themed card possibilities are endless but I have three examples for you.
Sending Happy Wishes

I think everyone could use a “thinking of you” card right now. I love getting happy mail. This card was pretty simple and I love the spring vibe. It has a base of Mint Macaron. Then I used Very Vanilla card stock and the stamp set to create the mosaic tree in Highland Heather and Soft Suede. I stamped the tree branches three times, shifting the stamp slightly with each image. I like the fullness it gave to the tree.
Next, I punched the corners of the cardstock with the Detailed Trio punch. It’s not part of the suite but is a great all-purpose punch. The Memorable Mosaic stamp set provided the sentiment. I used Mint Macaron ink and the Timeless Lable punch from the suite. It’s adhered with Dimensionals over a piece of the Mint Macaron Textile ribbon. This ribbon is beautiful in person. It has a bit of shine to it and its soft. I’ll be using it a lot. The Very Vanilla layer is adhered to the card front with Dimensionals and the card is ready to mail.
Embossed Rose

The next card features the 3D Mosaic embossing folder and the Mosaic Mood specialty DSP. I started with a base of Very Vanilla. I embossed a 4″-5-1/4″ piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and then used Soft Suede on a sponge to faux age the edges. Next, I used some of the DSP. It’s a specialty because of the interesting texture on certain sheets. It’s almost like the images are heat embossed. The feel like vinyl. It’s very cool in person. I used snail on the strip of DSP and Dimensionals on the fussy cut flowers and leaves. You can see that I snuck in some more of that ribbon too.
After I put that together, I decided I wanted this to be a birthday card. I used a sentiment from the Cake Soiree stamp set and Terracotta Tile ink. I punched it out with the Timeless Label punch and distressed with the Soft Suede ink around the edges. Lastly, for the bit of bling, I used three of the Flower Faceted gems.
Z Special Fold Card

I wanted to make this last card to show off the hummingbird from the DSP. Isn’t it gorgeous? The base of this card is Garden Green cardstock cut lengthwise at 4-1/4″ and scored at 5-1/2″. Then one of the long sides is scored again at 2-3/4″. This makes the Z. On the flap of the Z, I added another piece of the DSP cut 2-1/2″ x 4″.
Next, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla for the inside, but don’t adhere that yet, because it’s going to go on top of the flap for the band. The band is a 2″ x 5″ piece of Kraft paper, Soft Suede would work well also. I scored it at 1-1/4″ and tucked that behind the Very Vanilla interior card. Then I added a 1-3/4″ by 3-1/2″ piece of the DSP.
On top of the band, I created a medallion using Mint Macaron cardstock and the Stitched Shapes circle die. I added some fussy cut roses and the hummingbird from the DSP. The bird and smaller rose are attached to the medallion with Dimensionals. Be careful on the Dimensional placement on the bird or your card won’t open. Ask me how I know that.
Anyhow, here is an inside look at the card. The sentiment is from the stamp set in Terracotta Tile. You can see how the band flips back and the card opens.

Let me know what you think or if you are working on any happy mail. Stay healthy!
