Lovely Laser-Cut Card

This is a very special card made for a dear friend of mine who was celebrating her birthday.

The Base

I started with a lacy Bird Ballad Laser-cut card base. These cards and scalloped envelopes come in a pretty Petal Pink tin with a gold leaf pattern. The first thing I did was add a layer of DSP inside the card so that my message wouldn’t be visible through the lacy cutouts. I didn’t have the Perennial Essence paper in yet, so I used some butterfly paper I had.

The Flowers

Next, I used the Beautiful Promenade and matching dies to create the flowers and tags. The flowers are a two stamp process. I stamped the main flower image in Rich Razzleberry on Very Vanilla paper. Then I used the line stamp in the set with Highland Heather, but I stamped off first so the lines are quite faint. After I die cut the flowers, I dabbed a bit of Wink of Stella in the centers.

The Tag

While the flowers were drying, I created the tag. I love cards with tags and the Beautiful Promenade has some great stamps to do this with. I used a 2″ wide piece of Very Vanilla, and stamped the half rectangle pattern stamp in Gorgeous Grape one direction and then the other, so it formed a closed rectangle image. Then I used one of the dies in the coordinating Beautiful Layer’s dies to cut the triangular detail at the top of the tag. I threaded some Polka Dot tulle through the center hole, carefully, after I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Rich Razzleberry. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet set. The flower spray on the tag is stamped in Highland Heather and die cut. I added it to the tag with Dimensionals.

Final Details

Next, I cut three leaves from Soft Sea Foam paper using the dies. Now, it was time to assemble. I glued the bottom flower on with snail adhesive and the top flower with Dimensionals. The tag has Dimensionals too. Using a dab of Tombow on the stems, I inserted the leaves in the gaps.

Lastly, I stamped the floral spray on the scalloped envelope. and added a few retired Rich Razzleberry gems. If I hadn’t had those, I would have colored some rhinestones with my Stampin’ Blends. It was a pleasure to make this card while thinking of my friend.
