Rooted in Nature – CASE

One of the best ways to get ideas for your cards is to look at the cards other crafters are making. CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything. Most of us post somewhere on social media. I found today’s inspiration on Pinterest looking for great cards to include in care packages for our troops. I love to make ultra-feminine cards with lots of bling. I used Melissa Kerman’s Rooted in Nature card as a starting place for this card.

Her card used a stamped background. To simplify so that my craft group could make these quickly, I substituted the leafy paper from the Nature’s Poem DSP pack. It gave the same feel of movement and texture, but was much faster than stamping the individual leaf stamps in the set. I also stamped the sentiment using a single color, Tranquil Tide, to match the DSP and the card stock layer below. I used a combination of a 2″ Circle punch and the Starburst punch for the sentiment layers.

The card base is Soft Suede. I used it for the base medallion, and it matches the banner strip that is also from Nature’s Poem. The last change I made to the card was the addition of some Copper Trim. I used an 8″ length and teased it apart so that it became more of a net than a ribbon. Stretching the trim always shortens it, so use a much longer piece than you think you will need.

If you do find a project to CASE, please try to give credit if you share your creations. I would love to see any projects you make based on the posts I’ve done. Happy Crafting.
