We are definitely in the Christmas season. I received my first card in the mail today! How are you doing with your cards? If you’re behind, don’t panic. I have two quick and easy cards for you using the Merry Christmas to All stamp set and the matching Merry Christmas Thinlits. They are so dramatic and bold, perfect for a quick card that has a lot of WOW. Not only that, I’m going to show you how to save on materials by using the scrap.
Both cards use the Silver Foil-Edged Cards as the base. This is a huge time saver because you already have the foil detail. For the first card, I added a layer of Whisper White dry embossed with the Tufted dynamic embossing folder. Subtle and elegant. Next I used a small strip 1-3/4″ by 5-1/4″ of the wood grain DSP in the Festive Farmhouse pack. This pack is the definition of rustic elegance and will go so well with the November Paper Pumpkin. You’ll see more of it in December – I promise.
Next, I die cut a snowflake using Sparkle Glimmer paper andthe dies from the Snowflake Showcase. These dies won’t be available after Friday – order them now if you haven’t already. The Merry is from the Merry Christmas dies. I told you – bold and elegant. I cut it from a piece of silver foil that was 2″x 3-3/4″. SAVE the scraps from this cut you will use it in card two. I glued down all the layers and added three pearls. Done with card one.
Card two began with the outline of Merry. I got this idea from Mae Belle, one of my Paper Pumpkin Partiers. I didn’t save every little piece from the die-cut – but the piece that goes with the “y” makes it readable. Do as many or few of the little teardrop bits as you want. I layered that foil onto the same size piece of Cherry Cobbler using Tombow liquid glue.
The base layer is Cherry Cobbler with another piece of the DSP from Festive Farmhouse. Christmas is from the Merry Christmas to All set is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I love how the strong serif font contrasts so well with the script font of Merry. I used the label die to cut out Christmas and added it to the card with Dimensionals. I popped on three silver pearls for a little more interest – completely optional.
That’s it two quick cards – done!
