The holidays are here and I’m so excited. Putting up my Christmas tree after Thanksgiving is one of my favorite traditions. I also enjoy sending Christmas cards to everyone I know. It’s the ultimate happy mail. And gift giving. There is something special about finding the right gift for a special person and then wrapping it with care. But, all these things take time. And I know how short on time you are. So, today’s Two for Tuesday is not only super fun I have time-saving tips for you too.
Hung with Care is a stamp set in the holiday catalog that is available as a hostess perk or with Stampin’ Rewards. It includes a bunch of Christmas stockings, two sentiments, and even a little candy cane stamp. I used those stockings to create a quick custom 5-1/4″x 4″ take on designer series paper. I spread the stocking stamps out on the F sized acrylic block – this is the big one that’s used for background stamps. I was able to do six images in one go. I heat embossed the images on Whisper White cardstock in silver. Then, I took the individual stockings and filled in the gaps using Blueberry Bushel ink. Super quick and now I had the paper I needed for both projects.
I cut the stamped paper in two – one piece 2″ the other 2-1/4″. The two-inch piece became this gift tag. I used the Scallop Tag Punch to create the top of the tag and the Detailed Trio punch to round the bottom corners. I used the Labels to Love stamp set to create the To/ From piece and punched that out with the Everyday Label punch. Two pieces of Whisper White Sheer ribbon and the tag was done. Punches are a huge time saver.
Next, I took the 2-1/4″ remaining strip and created a Christmas card. I used the Silver Foil notecard as a base. This is a huge timesaver because the paper is already cut to size and has the gorgeous silver trim. I used a 5-1/4″x4″ piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock dry-embossed with the Cable Knit dynamic embossing folder as my base layer. I adhered the stamped strip. Then, before I put it on the card base, I added three lengths of Whisper White Sheer ribbon. This is for all the folks who don’t like to tie bows. There are lots of ways to use ribbon as an embellishment without the pain. Now it was ready to go on the base.
For the sentiment, I used the Peaceful Noel stamp set and heat embossed with Silver powder. Again, the Everyday Label punch came in handy. I popped that on the front of the card with Dimensionals.
That’s it. From start to finish less than 30 minutes. Faster than a batch of cookies and fewer calories too.
