Two for Tuesday Holiday Catalog Preview

The 2018 Holiday Catalog is packed with beautiful stamp sets, papers, dies, and embellishments. Orders can be placed starting September 5.  Because I’m a demonstrator, I was given the opportunity to preorder in August.  I didn’t go overboard, in fact, I limited myself to one great bundle. The Beautiful Baubles bundle caught my eye for a number of reasons.  There are great holiday sentiments in a variety of sizes. Images that beg to be hand colored and dies that are going to be useful long after the holiday has passed.

Beautiful Baubles and Broadway Bound DSP from Stampin UpI did two very different cards with the bundle.  The first one has a mid-century modern vibe.  I used a Thick Whisper White base with a layer of Silver foil. On top of that, I added a piece of Broadway Bound DSP. I stamped the image and the sentiment on vellum then heat embossed in Silver.

I mounted the vellum using some smaller glue dots that came in a Paper Pumpkin kit. The smaller glue dots are much easier to disguise.  A few rhinestones scattered around and this card is done.  It would be perfect to send in one of the new foil-edged envelopes that are in the Holiday catalog.

Stampin Up Beautiful Baubles and Under the MistletoeThe second card I have for you is a complete opposite in terms of style. It has a very traditional, almost Victorian, Christmas style.  I started with an Old Olive Card base.

I heat embossed the big bauble stamp in Gold on Whisper White cardstock and colored in parts of it with light and dark Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin Blends.

I used the dies to cut out a frame in the Under the Mistletoe DSP.  I used the same frame and the “doily” insert to cut out the Gold Foil insert.  I fussed with the three layers until they lined up perfectly and adhered the “sandwich” to the Old Olive base.

The sentiment is from Blended Seasons – only available through August 31. That’s stamped in Real Red and mounted on Old Olive.  A quick Real Red bow and some gold pearls and it’s done.

No matter what your Christmas style, the Beautiful Baubles bundle works.  I’ll have another card for you with this set on Thursday, but I’ll be creating with it all season long!  If you’d like to be able to preorder as a Stampin Up demonstrator, contact me.
