Manly Moments Alternates – Two for Tuesday

My DayInkers Paper Pumpkin Party group challenged me this month.  A lot of them don’t have fathers, brothers, nephews et cetera in their lives and there was some concern that the box wouldn’t be applicable to them.  Being the Paper Pumpkin fan that I am, I accepted their challenge.

Up and Away Manly Moments Paper Pumpkin

The first card I came up with incorporated their love of all things hot air balloon.  I have people who own hot air balloons, a pilot, crewmembers, and the rest of us who just love seeing them in the sky in this group.  I used the Up and Away thinlets to add this detailed balloon and some fluffy clouds.  It took a bit of playing to find a layout that would work, but the group loved it.

We used a variety of colors for the balloon.  In this example, I used Pool Party.  I also used Pool Party ink for the “You are my” and the “Adventure”.   This layout would work well for a thank you card, graduation, and even a wedding.

Petal Palette Manly MomentsNext, I came up with a feminine layout to use the kit. I love the Decorative Ribbon Border punch.  It’s a super easy way to add a feminine detail to any project.  I also used the Petal Palette stamps and matching dies to add flowers. They were stamped in Mint Macaron and then I colored them in with pencils from the Lots of Happy kit, the Rich Razzleberry and Lemon Lime Twist. I quick swipe with the blender pen and they look like I used watercolors or at least softened my hard pencil lines.

The Happy and To You are stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I added a piece of retired ribbon, but really any feminine ribbon would work well.  The final touch was a few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

I was definitely working “outside the box” for these two examples.  I’ll try to post some Zen Crafter examples in the near future.  Happy Crafting!
