Lots of Lavender – Sale A Bration Stamp Set

Two for Tuesday – Lots of Lavender

The Lots of Lavender stamp set is from the 2018 Sale A Bration catalog. This stamp consists of two line art flowers, a lavender bouquet, and a rose spray. The remaining stamps are used to fill in the line drawings.

Lots of Lavender Full CardsFor this two for Tuesday post, I used :

Crumb Cake card base,

Fresh Fig as the primary color of layering cardstock and ink

Old Olive to accent the cards

Very Vanilla as the base for the sentiments and images.

I embellished the cards with Linen Thread and Gold Glitz. Gold Glitz is retired, but you could achieve the same effect using the Fine Tip Glue Pen and Gold Stampin’ Glitter.

Vertical card:

  • Texture provided by embossing a strip of Old Olive card stock with ‘vines’ embossing folder of the Petal Pair Texture Impressions Embossing Folders from the 2018 Occasions catalog.  This strip of cardstock also provided another layer to the card base and Fresh Fig layer.
  • The image is cut from the Very Vanilla cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Framelits from the Annual Catalog.  I used the line art image was stamped in Old Olive and the image was filled in with the other stamps in the set using Old Olive and Fresh Fit.
  • The Sentiment came from the Eclectic Expressions stamp set that was in the second release of the Sale A Bration. I stamped that in Fresh Fig.
  • Embellishments: I contrasted the rustic texture of the Linen Thread with the sparkle of gold glitter.

For the second card, I used identical colors, sentiments, layers, and embellishments. In this case, I provided texture, in a visual way by stamping the line are of the lavender bouquet in Whisper White Craft Ink along the top of the Fresh Fig cardstock.

I used the rose spray line art and colored it in with markers. The line art was stamped with Old Olive and I used Fresh Fig and Old Olive Stampin’ Write markers to fill in the image.

Instead of embossing the Old Olive layer I used the Layering Ovals Framelits from the Annual Catalog to make that layer ‘peek out’ from behind the stitched shape oval.

I was able to create two unique cards from this image based stamp set using nearly identical materials by changing the layout, horizontal and vertical and the layers and texture.  Which card do you like better?  How are you using your stamp sets to create different looks?

If you love this stamp set, place an order before March 31 when Sale A Bration is gone.

And here are two more cards using the same set to inspire you.  One is a Narrow Note card the other is a 3×3 using copper embossing.
